A Chelsea saucer

circa 1750-52
of lobed and fluted shape, painted in Vincennes style with a coastal scene, a fine couple strolling through a garden down towards the sea, a church and other buildings visible on the distant shore, a rowing boat and a sailing ship on the water, the rim picked out with a brownish red line, 12cm, anchor on raised pad mark (loss to rim)
