A famille rose Armorial part dinner set,

Chinese, 18th Century,
each piece enamel painted and gilt with the coat of arms of the Hotham, comprising an octagonal shaped meat plate, four dinner plates and two small plates,
the meat plate 29cm wide, ((one dinner plate with hairline, rim frits) (7)).

Footnotes

See D.Howard, Armorial Porcelain Pg. 546.
This service was almost certainly made for Sir Richard Hotham, knighted in about 1770, who was a managing owner of East Indiamen and had ten ships at Canton between 1765 and 1789.
The two small plates would date from the first series of the service, the armorial on the remaining items is a slight variant.
