A Silver-Hilted Small-Sword
London Silver Hallmarks For 1756, Maker's Mark Of John Carman

With colichemarde blade (some wear overall) of hollow triangular section etched with foliated strapwork and flaming hearts on each side of the forte, hilt cast, pierced and chased with naval and martial trophies within gadrooned borders and comprising double shell-guard, quillon block, knuckle-guard and globular pommel with button finial (one arm and rear quillon expertly replaced), and grip bound with silver ribbon and twisted silver wire
