Collection of letters and documents signed by captains who had served with Nelson, members of his circle, and distinguished naval contemporaries, including documents or letters by Admiral Lord St Vincent (1812), Admiral Sir Hyde Parker (ordering champagne, 1800), Admiral Sir Peter Parker (1795), Captain Troubridge (1794), Captain Sir James Saumarez (from the Victory, 1812), Captain Codrington (1849), Admiral Lord Northesk (on board HMS Britannia, 1804), Admiral Duncan (1762), Admiral William Parker (1787), Captain Durham (1791), Captain Lapenotiere (1810), Captain Bayntun (hailing Captain Hamond as "a distinguished Nelsonian Brother", 1824), Captain Sir John Duckworth (1815), Admiral Boscawen (fragment, 1747), Admiral Lord Howe (fragment, 1795), Dr William Beatty, and Captain Hardy (front, 1834); with framed portraits of Sir William Sidney Smith (Bell after Chandler) and of 'Old Dan buryng the French General at Acre'
