With broad single-edged blade (some wear, areas of pitting and rust patination) etched and gilt with trophies of arms and foliage against a blued ground over half its length on each side, one side including the seated figure of Britannia beneath the crowned cypher of George III, and with the full royal arms and motto on the other, ormolu hilt formed as a fouled anchor with elaborate ropework forming a guard, the swelling grip engraved 'Victory of the Nile 1st of August 1798' in an oval on one side, in its original black leather (some damage) scabbard with ormolu locket, chape and suspension mount each with cusped and moulded borders and an applied fouled anchor on both sides, the former signed in full on one side, and with two rings for suspension
