A Mughal enamelled gold Tray
Jaipur, India, 19th Century

octagonal, with outurned rim, decorated in green, red, white and lavender enamel with a central lobed roundel containing a fantail pigeon with puffed up chest, surrounded by a kaleidoscopic pattern of medallions containing a floral medallion alternating with cypress trees, the underside of the rim with a frieze of upright leaves, the base engraved with Gujerati numerals
190 g.; 12.4 cm. diam.
