A large Safavid copper Basin
Persia, dated AH [10]86/ AD 1675

hemispherical standing on a pedestal foot, engraved around the rim with a frieze of inscription against floral vines, a band of pendant trefoils below
37 cm. diam.

Footnotes

The inscription includes the call to God to bless 'The Fourteen Innocents'; the owners’ names : Haji Ma’sum (the original owner), Muhammad Baqir AH [1]131/ AD 1718-19, and traces of another owner’s name in a stamped form.
