A mould-blown glass Flask
Persia, 12th-13th Century

yellowish-green, tall slender cylindrical neck with an applied spiral trail at the bottom and bulbous body blown into a two-part mould decorated with a frieze of four circular medallions containing two pairs of confronting birds, probably peacocks with long tails, pushed-in base with pontil mark; a free-blown blue glass flask with a tall tapering neck and plain globular body with a pushed-in base and pontil mark, 18.5 cm. high, and a qumqum restored from two different vessels, 13.5 cm. high
