Footnotes

There do not appear to be any other published examples with this type of fantastic, long necked animal. The background animals can, however, be paralleled with a dish from the Barlow Collection (Geza Fehervari, Islamic Pottery: A Comprehensive study Based on the Barlow Collection, London, 1973, no. 259, pl. 104c).
