Arabic manuscript on paper, 295 leaves, 15 lines to the page written in neat and clear naskhi script in black ink, gold roundels decorated with red and blue dots between verses, margins ruled in two shades of gold, catchwords in wide margins, sura headings in white naskhi script on gold panels, one double-page illuminated frontispiece decorated with baskets of floral sprays and foliage in the rococo style in colours and gold, folio 2 and illumination replaced later in the 19th Century, some smudging affecting small areas of text, later brown leather richly decorated in blind, with flap, worn at edges
