Mirza Davud (A.H. 1258-94 / A.D. 1842-77) was the second son of Mirza Aqa Khan Nuri, the Prime Minister of Nasir ad-Din Shah. He was appointed vazir lasghar (the one in charge of military finances) at the age of 15 by his father. As long as the father was in power, he held the post, and after his father’s dismissal in AH 1275/ AD 1858-9, he was sent into exile with him. He was made deputy to the minister of finance by his elder brother Mirza Kazim Khan Nizam al-Mulk who was the minister between AH 1288-90/ AD 1871-73.
