Made at the Ricketts Glassworks at Bristol, using a three piece mould patented in 1821. A similar bottle is illustrated by Willy Van Den Bosche, Antique Glass Bottles, pl. 27 (3). The initials stand for Daniel Bishop Davy, a Topsham shipbuilder. Similarly inscribed bottles are found dated 1820, 1826, 1828 and 1837
