The crest and initials are those of Sir Henry Carew, 7th Baronet of Haccombe (1779-1830), of Newton Abbot in Devon. An experimental three piece bottle made at Ricketts Glasshouse before the 1821 patent and bearing the same Carew crest is illustrated by Willy Van Den Bosche, Antique Glass Bottles, fig. 42 (1), p. 59
