Shozo Shimamoto's works are included in the Tate Collection, London, the National Museum of Modern Art, Rome and the Contemporary Art Museum, Tokyo. He has recently been included in major exhibitions at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and the Jeu de Paume, Paris. His work caused him to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996.
