Bonhams is pleased to handle the dispersion of the inventory of
the fabled Berkeley landmark, Serendipity Books. Founded by Peter B.
Howard and serving both the Bay area and the larger international rare
book community since 1964, Serendipity Books was as celebrated for its
quirky nature as for the rare and unusual treasures to be found under
its roof.
Beginning with a single owner event in February, Bonhams will
hold a series of sales of books, manuscripts, photographs, prints,
paintings, and other memorabilia from Serendipity Books. These will
include a series of shelf sales of lower-value property held on site at
the Berkeley storefront, as well as fine and intermediate sales held on
Bonhams' premises.
Please check back in the coming months to find the updated sales
schedule.
