Property from the Famed New York Wanamaker-Munn Mansion of Aimee De Heeren Comes to Auction in October
We are honored to offer the Wanamaker- de Heeren Family Collection at auction on October 22, 2008. The auction is to be held at our Madison Avenue galleries featuring European furniture, decorative arts, silver, rugs and carpets, ceramics, and books from the Estate of Aimee de Heeren.
The Brazilian born Aimee de Heeren was an illustrious member of the international social scene who in addition to her own distinguished lineage, was also the widow of Rodman de Heeren, heir to the Wanamaker Department store fortune. Her palatial Manhattan residence, known as the Wanamaker Munn mansion, was designed in 1917-18 by F. Burrall Hoffman, Jr. for Charlotte Winthrop Fowler. It was later acquired by Fernanda Wanamaker de Heeren Munn, whose family occupied the house for four generations.

Uniquely Jovial Regiannini and Fanciful Fantasia Scene Pique Interest for Bonhams’ October European Paintings Auction
Fine art lovers are eagerly awaiting the October 21, 2008 sale of European Paintings. Scheduled to take place at our expansive and luxuriously appointed New York showrooms and simulcast to the San Francisco salesroom, the auction will feature more than 300 lots for collectors of fine European paintings and members of the trade.
Sure to spark fierce bidding are two excellent works by Vittorio Regiannini. The first, humorously titled Fowl Play, is unusually animated featuring an elegant young lady playing with birds in the refreshingly incongruous milieu of a stately sitting room. Estimated at $100/150,000, the mastery of the piece is likely to tempt bidders.
