Director, UK Board
Ralph Taylor is the Senior Director of the Post-War & Contemporary Art Department and has also been appointed a Director to the UK Board.
He was Managing Director, Sales and Acquisitions at Lazarides Gallery in London for six years, during which time he oversaw a comprehensive programme across three galleries and staged over 100 exhibitions in London, New York and Los Angeles. Ralph was instrumental in shaping the careers of artists such as JR, Banksy and Jonathan Yeo, as well as building a private sales profile at the gallery to service the secondary market. While at Lazarides, he also oversaw collection advisory for several of the world's most active collectors.
Prior to his time at Lazarides, Ralph worked as a specialist in Sotheby's Contemporary Art department for three years, acting as co-head of the Day Sales in late 2007, and initiating and managing a new concept auction to cater for younger artists and new collectors in December of that year. He began his career with two years in the paintings department of another major international auction house.
He has a First-class degree from Leeds University in English Literature and History of Art, and an MA in 20th-Century European Modernism from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
