Emily Barber is Department Director of the London Jewellery Department. She joined Bonhams in 2004 as a Senior Specialist having previously worked for an international competitor where she was responsible for curating bi-annual antique jewellery auctions in London as well as supporting important jewellery auctions in Geneva, Milan and New York. Over the years, Emily has been involved with the research and sale of many valuable and historic jewellery collections and has taught and lectured on the history of jewellery at leading institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She has been a regular contributor to BBC Radio and has published articles in leading journals. Emily is also an independent valuer for the the Treasure Valuation Committee of Great Britain and a leading expert on the jewels of Sah Oved.
