Jakob is Head of Business Development for the Bonhams Motorcar Department in San Francisco. His primary role is that of consigning motorcars and developing existing and new auctions throughout the US.
Jakob was brought up with a "car-guy" attitude in his native Denmark, where his father operates in the car business. At the age of 13, Jakob and his father acquired an MGA for restoration, a project that sparked his interest in collector cars and their history and engineering. After finishing his education as a automotive technician, while sub majoring in business and management, Jakob left Denmark for a career in the US. Here he joined a major west coast collector, managing the collection and the restoration shop, while using his native European lingual and negotiation skills to source additional cars from both US and European markets. Jakob subsequently joined a US based specialist collectors' car auction house, where for the next six years, Jakob worked as a leading motorcar specialist. He has been responsible for consigning and bringing to market numerous important motorcars and collections. His advice and opinion is sought by many collectors around the world and encompasses a critical and well-measured view on the collector car market.
Jakob Greisen holds memberships to a number of motoring clubs, including the CF200 and the Gullwing Group, and is an avid enthusiast and collector of motorcars and motorcycles.
