William O'Reilly joined the Impressionist and Modern Art Department at Bonhams in 2012, building on a career in the international auction world that started, also at Bonhams, in 1997. William was previously International Head of Department with a specialisation in Works on Paper at a major auction house, building business for sales in Europe and North America. During that time he handled a number of landmark auctions including masterpieces from the Koenigs Family Collection, the Martin Bodmer Foundation and the Paul Oppé Collection, among others. At Bonhams he was responsible for researching and presenting Salvador Dalí's FruitDalí watercolours, previously unseen in the auction market, which sold for more than $1 million (www.bonhams.com/dali). William is a regular auctioneer for Bonhams, and in addition has more than ten years experience in taking benefit auctions for many high profile international causes including UNESCO and the United Nations Foundation.

William O'Reilly is responsible for building relationships with international collectors and their advisors, and prospecting for new business. In addition he is closely involved in ensuring the quality of the department's catalogues and in researching and writing associated essays.

Prior to joining Bonhams, he spent three years working with alternative investment funds, principally in global macro and equity strategies, with a responsibility for building relationships with High Net Worth individuals, family offices and major institutions. He holds the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.

William has a degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from the University of Cambridge.
