Milena Denis

Milena Denis is the Jewellery Specialist at Bonhams in Los Angeles. She began working at the company in January 2012. Her responsibilities include jewellery appraising and gem grading, as well as contributing to fine jewellery and timepiece auctions throughout the US.

Denis has more than two decades of experience in the jewellery industry, including special expertise in gem identification, diamond and coloured stone evaluation, and gem grading. Throughout her career, she has guided, advised, and counselled clients in the areas of customised jewellery design and connoisseurship.

Denis joined Bonhams after working for the Bvlgari Corporation of America as a Gemologist, where she specialised in evaluation of high end contemporary Italian jewellery and served as television jewellery and gem hostess on a premier shopping network. Prior to that, she played an integral part of the Wendy Portman Fine Jewellery team in Toronto, Canada and Dupuis Fine Auctioneers group where she specialised in antique, period and modern jewellery with a focus on diamond Art Deco, one-of-a-kind and famous maker pieces.

Denis's educational background includes earning a BA in Business Administration from University of Toronto. She also holds a certificate in Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America.

Outside of Bonhams, Denis actively participated, supported and contributed to many non-profit and charitable organisations; most notably Make-A-Wish Foundation, Toronto Children's Hospital, and the Toronto Symphony, among others.
