Madalina Lazen joined Bonhams in the spring of 2011 as a Senior Specialist in the European Paintings department.
During her 14 years of experience, Lazen developed her expertise in the Fine Arts Department at an international New York auction house, where she began working in 1996. While there, she was in charge of Old Master and 19th Century European art sales and was closely involved with the sales of American Paintings, Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art. In addition, she catalogued major collections, including the Collection of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the Bill Blass Collection and the Safra Collection.
She has appraised paintings from the Estate of Allan Stone, the Paintings Collection of the Harvard Law School and the Paintings Collection of Rockefeller University.
In 2009, she opened her own valuation business and joined the Appraisers Association of America.
Lazen holds a master's degree in Art History from the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
