Alexis Chompaisal is Director of Bonhams' twice yearly sale of Made In California: Contemporary Art, which focuses on the art and artists of California from the post-war period up to the present day. In this position, Chompaisal is responsible for sourcing and curating property for this auction in addition to providing appraisals for private clients, estates and institutions for a variety of purposes. During her seven years in this department, Chompaisal has been instrumental in working with a number of prestigious collections, including that of the Factor Family Foundation.
Chompaisal also uses her knowledge and abilities to provide appraisals and source property for Bonhams sales of Impressionist & Modern Art and Contemporary Art, both of which are held in New York twice each year. In this capacity, she serves as one of Bonhams principle specialists in Modern and Contemporary Art in California and is responsible for managing projects located in the Southern California region.
Chompaisal earned a degree in Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles and has a total of twelve years of professional experience in the field of Fine Art.
