David Swig is the Assistant Business Manager and a Specialist in Bonhams Collectors' Motorcars Department in San Francisco. His responsibilities include consigning and researching vintage cars for various Bonhams sales, coordinating sale logistics and fielding inquiries about consignments from media and potential buyers.

Swig is a lifelong automobile enthusiast and a regular participant in historic car activities including circuit racing, road tours and Concours d'Elegance. Having grown up immersed in the vintage car hobby, he possesses a wealth of knowledge beyond his years, with particular emphasis on sports and racing cars of the 1950s through the 1980s. He wears many professional hats; among them: journalist, event director, racing driver and vintage car specialist.

Swig's professional experience includes time spent at Toyota, various internships in the field of automotive journalism, as well as an ongoing project to promote and elevate the vintage Japanese collectors' car movement. Also heavily involved in the historic rally scene, Swig and his father organise the internationally renowned California Mille historic sports car tour.

Swig was the Director of Motoring J Style - America's Festival of Japanese Cars, from 2006 to 2008. Prior to this, he interned at Road & Track magazine in 2004; Motor Trend magazine, in 2002 and 2003; and served as a contributing writer for The Wheel magazine, in 2001 and 2002. He also has been published in various magazines and books, such as Sports Car Market, Grassroots Motorsports, Christophorus and Vintage Motorsport.

Swig holds a BA in English, with a second concentration in Sociology from Santa Clara University in California.

A San Francisco native, Swig can often be found racing his 1957 Monsterati Special at historic race meetings on the West Coast.
