James Roberts

James Roberts has worked in the auction business for 26 years, 21 of them for Bonhams. After starting and heading up Bonhams Central Southern England Office, he was appointed an Associate Director of Bonhams West Country and, in due course, became head of the Picture Department & Assistant Saleroom Manager of the Bath Saleroom and South West region. Since 2000, James has been in charge of Bonhams operations in Spain where he is responsible for developing the Bonhams brand in a rapidly expanding European market. James is a specialist in 19th century British Oil Paintings & Watercolour Drawings and has an additional, and particular, interest in jewellery. He is a qualified general valuer with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
