John Polson has worked in Bonhams motoring division since 2006, first as senior specialist in the Automobilia Department and then transferring to the motor car department as specialist. In this capacity he has coordinated successful Sales at Goodwood and the RAF Museum, Hendon, securing many strong results embracing a huge variety of cars. They include the Hartley family collection of Maserati cars, the ex-Works Aston Martin 'LM19' and the ex-Works Talbot 'BGH 23'.
From a family absolutely steeped in the collectors' motor car world and with a particular interest in vehicles dating from the pre-1940 period, John has actively competed in historic racing both at National and International level since 2006. He has competed at events including the Le Mans Classic and Goodwood Members' Meeting in cars such as the Talbot 105, Delahaye 135CS and Riley TT Sprite. He is also a great believer in running old cars on the road; participating in road rallies as far afield as Switzerland and Italy.
John is currently building a replica of the 1931 works Talbot 105 Single-Seater Brooklands racing car.
