Frank Maraschiello joined Bonhams in 2004 as the Vice President and Director of 20th Century Decorative Arts, presiding over departmental auctions in Los Angeles and New York.

Prior to 1983, Maraschiello managed Modernism Gallery on Madison Avenue, in New York City, which specialized in Art Deco and Vienna Secessionist design. In 1987, the gallery was combined with the prestigious Macklowe Gallery, whose specialty in Tiffany and Art Nouveau is world-renowned.

In 1993, Maraschiello joined an international auction house serving as the Vice President of 20th Century Decorative Arts. He was the Specialist in more than 35 auctions, including important sales of several private collections, such as John Mecom, Michael Chow, Roy Warshawsky, Jerry Frankel and Harold Joseph, among others.

Maraschiello is recognized throughout the world as an authority on 20th century design and has written and lectured on various facets of this field for a wide variety of special interest collector groups, appraisal societies and antique and design magazines.

Throughout the last 17 years, he has been instrumental in building the secondary market for works by contemporary studio artists, while setting world auction records for many figures in this field. He sits on the Board of Directors for Urban Glass and the Advisory Board of the Art Deco Society of New York, and regularly works with various museums and decorative arts organizations on fundraising auctions.

Maraschiello holds a BA in English and Visual Arts from the University of Buffalo and an MFA from New York University.
