Christine Skinner is the Director of Period Art and Design auctions at Bonhams in San Francisco. She is responsible for overseeing the development of sales, sale operations and logistics, marketing and advertising and appraising property.
Skinner brings to Bonhams expertise in the world of antiques that goes back to her childhood, when she was introduced to antiques through her family's business. She has experience buying and selling antiques extensively in both the US and Japan.
Skinner joined Bonhams in 2002 as a Business Administrator in the Furniture and Decorative Arts Department. She went on to work in its Fine Arts Department as a Business Manager handling account management and administrative duties. Prior to these positions, Skinner worked as a Director of Marketing and Business Development for an auction company, handling the disposition of assets of Fortune 500 companies.
She earned a BA in Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, as well as Diamond Grading Certificates from the Gemological Institute of America.
Skinner is a Southern California native who enjoys tennis, travel and culinary pursuits. She is also an advocate for animals.
