Andrew Jones is the Director of Bonhams Furniture and Decorative Arts Department in Los Angeles. Since joining the company in March of 2002, he has been responsible for acquiring property, appraising fine art and managing the day-to-day business of the department. He works closely with the Furniture and Decorative Arts teams in New York and San Francisco to promote, support and develop existing and emerging auction categories.
During Jones' time with the company, he has sold more than $50 million on behalf of his clients, and has developed a refined knowledge of various aspects of the fine arts market.
Jones has been instrumental in expanding and developing Bonhams Furniture and Decorative Arts Department in Los Angeles, and coordinating the sale of many private single-owner collections, including the Collection of Sir Daniel Donohue, the Estate of Maria Helen Smith and the Estate of Elizabeth Colyear Vincent. He is exceptionally well versed in European furniture, clocks and decorative arts, and expresses a passion for works from the 18th century.
Prior to his position at Bonhams, Jones was an Associate Director of an international auction house in England, which he joined in 1982. He began his career in the art world in 1979 at a provincial auction house in England to understand the workings of the auction business.
