Karl Green is the Director of Furniture and Decorative Arts for Bonhams in New York, with a specialization in French and Continental Furniture and Decorations.
Green has considerable experience in the European and American auction markets. After graduating magna cum laude from Pennsylvania State University in 1983, he worked in several auction houses in the U S, before traveling to London to complete a Fine Arts Course, from 1987 to 1988.
From 1999 to 2005, Green was also Secretary General for International Auctioneers, comprised of ten leading auction houses worldwide. He was responsible for the joint operations and marketing of this network, organizing several of the world's first intercontinental live art auctions, as well as the editing of the group's semi-annual magazine.
Green continued his career in the auction house in Switzerland, where he worked for more than 20 years, rising to the position of Director, as well as Head of Communications for the company.
