Sally Fong, Head of Sales of Bonhams Chinese Works of Art department is based in Hong Kong, but travels regularly to Taiwan, London and New York to source consignments and meet with clients.
Sally joined Bonhams Hong Kong in 2009 and worked for both Chinese Works of Art and Chinese Paintings departments. These sales have achieved stellar results, with the Snuff Bottles from the Mary and George Bloch Collection auction series (2010-2012) and Masterpieces of Yixing Stoneware from the Mr and Mrs Jimmy Sha Collection (November 2013) achieving world records that still stand today.
Other remarkable sales include: Lin Fengmian paintings from the Mary and George Bloch Collection (November 2009), the Q Collection: Exquisite Soapstones (May 2011), Yixing Stoneware from the Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Hawthorn Collection (November 2011), Voyages of Discovery - A Connoisseur's Choice: Imperial Masterworks from a Private Portuguese Collection (May 2012), An Imperial Portrait of Consort Chunhui (May 2012).
Sally provides an academic approach to Chinese art, with her interest focusing particularly on Scholarly Works and Art, Chinese snuff bottles and Yixing stoneware. Two notable achievements are the world records achieved for Chinese snuff bottles and Yixing stoneware.
