Join Bonhams for Jewelry in June, a series of jewelry valuation events held throughout the UK giving access to our national network of experienced specialists.

During June our team of jewelry specialists will be available to give confidential valuations, free of charge, on any piece of jewelry that you may be considering selling at auction. Perhaps you have items that you are no longer wearing and you don't wish to continue insuring? Clients will be offered the opportunity to include important pieces in forthcoming Jewelry auctions in London, which are marketed to Bonhams international client base to achieve the highest possible prices.

Bonhams is now recognized as the auctioneer of choice for those selling the very best jewelry. With an annual turnover of £30.7m in 2013 Bonhams Jewelry department continues in its position of pre-eminenance as market leaders in the UK for the third consecutive year. Last year's sales were up 20% on the previous year and the department has enjoyed consistent growth every year since 2000. Spectacular results from 2013 included a new world record price for the blue diamond 'Trombino' ring, which sold for £6.2million.

A number of recent top lots in the Fine Jewelry sales at New Bond Street have been sourced during highly successful Jewelry in June campaigns in previous years; a fine art deco emerald and diamond ring sold for £162,000 including buyer's premium against a pre-sale estimate of £30,000 - £40,000, and London buyers competed for a stunning aquamarine, sapphire and diamond sautoir by Cartier, circa 1920, driving the price up to £216,000.

Jean Ghika continues: "Current market conditions for fine quality jewelry, most specifically signed period pieces, fine colored gem-stones, diamonds and natural pearls has never been stronger. During June our team of jewelry specialists will be available to give confidential valuations, free of charge, on any piece of jewelry you may be considering selling at auction."

NOTES FOR EDITORS

Bonhams, founded in 1793, is one of the world's largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques. The present company was formed by the merger in November 2001 of Bonhams & Brooks and Phillips Son & Neale. In August 2002, the company acquired Butterfields, the principal firm of auctioneers on the West Coast of America. Today, Bonhams offers more sales than any of its rivals, through two major salerooms in London: New Bond Street and Knightsbridge; and a further three in the UK regions and Scotland. Sales are also held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Carmel, New York and Connecticut in the USA; and Germany, France, Monaco, Hong Kong and Australia. Bonhams has a worldwide network of offices and regional representatives in 25 countries offering sales advice and valuation services in 60 specialist areas.
