Buoyed by strong early consignments, anticipation builds for October's Philadelphia sale at the Simeone Foundation, the only one of its kind in the world

7 Oct 2013, Preserving the Automobile: An Auction at the Simeone Foundation

LAST CALL FOR CONSIGNMENTS FOR BONHAMS' 2ND ANNUAL PRESERVING THE AUTOMOBILE AUCTION

Bonhams is delighted to announce its return to the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia for its second annual Preserving the Automobile Auction.

Universally praised for its focus on original condition cars, this auction is unique in the world and represents a rare opportunity for both buyers and sellers alike.

Early highlights already consigned include property from a private European museum, which contain automobiles that were formerly in the Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago and the Seal Cove Auto Museum of Maine. Examples include a 1903 Oldsmobile Model R Curved Dash Runabout, a 1910 Sears Model P 4-Passenger Motorbuggy, a 1917 Pierce-Arrow 38-C-4 7-Passenger Touring, and a 1934 Packard 1101 8 7-Passenger Touring, all to be offered without reserve.

Additionally, a selection of automobilia, spares and accessories will also be offered, led by property from the family collection of Alec Ulmann, founder of Sebring International Raceway.

As the appreciation and value of preservation over restoration soars, the importance of a sale dedicated to these "survivors" resonates more than ever. And Bonhams is now accepting consignments for this pioneering auction until the end of August.

Owners of original condition motorcars of any vintage are encouraged to call one of these Bonhams motoring specialist today for the October 7th sale in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:
