The 15th annual Bonhams Quail Lodge sale – the longest running of any international auction house during Monterey Car Week – realized in excess of $13 million.
Highlights included the sale of the ex-Filipinetti/ Dominique Martin Team ZITRO 1966 Ford GT40 for $2.2 million, and a 1966 Lola T70 MkII GT Coupe that was ex-Mecom/Simoniz Racing/Ron Grable, which
realised $324,000.
Uniquely, Bonhams offered not only motor cars, but also motorcycles, automobilia and jewelry, at the sale. Highlights included a trio of rare Crocker V-Twin motorcycles that all sold to a private collection in Asia Pacific for approximately $300,000 each, a beautifully restored 1937 Brough Superior SS100 that achieved $203,000, and an extremely rare Lalique 'Renard' fox mascot that achieved a new world record at almost $340,000.
After sale, an anonymous buyer paid an undisclosed sum for the ex-GTC Gulf Team Davidoff McLaren F1 GTR 'Longtail' FIA GT Endurance Racing Coupe.

Bonhams's debut sale at the world-famous Simeone Museum in Philadelphia – home to arguably the world's greatest grouping of endurance racing cars in the collection of Dr Fred Simeone – was a great success, realizing $2.8 million and achieving an impressive sale rate of 94 per cent.
The top-selling lot was a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupé from long-term first ownership, which realized $357,000. Other highlights included the sale of a 1915 Packard Model 3-38 Six Gentleman's Roadster for $219,500 and the Barn discovery ex-Basil Dean 1932 Aston Martin 1½-liter Le Mans 2-4 Seater, which realized $208,500.

Leading early consignments for the second annual sale in the Arizona desert is a 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Faux Cabriolet with rarely seen
coachwork by Veth & Zoon (estimate $900,000 - $1,200,000) and a 1928 Stearns- Knight Model F-6-85 Six-Passenger Roadster (estimate $125,000 - $150,000).

The machine legendary film star Steve McQueen rode in pioneering motorcycle documentary On Any Sunday, a 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross (estimate upon request), and a quartet of rare BMW racing motorcycles are among the highlights for the third annual Bonhams motorcycle auction in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile a quartet of BMW racers is led by a very rare and much-admired supercharged 1939 RS 255 (estimate $500,000 - $600,000).
Accompanying it are a 1954 RS 254 (estimate $150,000 - $180,000), a 1954 RS 254 with sidecar (estimate $160,000 - $180,000), and a 1956 RS
256 (estimate $150,000 - $180,000), all of which are expected to attract significant interest.
