The Stamp and Postal History Department specialises in all levels of the stamp market, ranging from complete collections to international rarities in the field of philately. We will be offering two auctions per year in Bonham's Los Angeles and New York salesrooms.
Whether it be a choice 1840 Penny Black from Great Britain, the world's first stamp, or a 1918 24c Inverted Jenny, the famous upside down airplane, we are pleased to offer single lots or entire collections ranging in value from $1,000 to over $100,000. Many collections of stamps have lain dormant for many years. Many rarities purchased in the first half of the last century have not returned to market. New finds are lying undiscovered in old boxes of correspondence. Of special interest are classic United States and All World single stamps and covers 1840-1930, Western Postal History, Great Britain, and The Far East including China up to 1980.
All basic auction appraisals are provided free of charge. Estate and Insurance appraisals are available upon request. For qualified collections worth in excess of $50,000, we will come to your home or business. Confidentiality and discretion guaranteed. Contact our specialists today and find out what your treasures are worth.
