As an international auction house specialising in fine art and antiques, we are seeking a Paralegal who will report to the VP/U.S. Counsel.

You will assist Counsel in all practice areas including contract preparation, dispute resolution, document production, periodic corporate and regulatory filings, and general legal department maintenance. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and flexible, with outstanding organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Principal responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Assisting in the preparation and drafting of legal documents and contracts;
- Working closely with Counsel and company departments to collect, categorise, and analyse documentation for claims;
- Handling smaller disputes and inquiries and liaise between disputing parties;
- Researching law and causes of action, summarising issues, and assisting Counsel with case management and discovery;
- Conducting legal research on a variety of federal and state regularity matters relevant to auction house business and operations including licencing, auctioneering, customs, and regulated materials;
- Monitoring and reviewing laws and regulations and identifying relevant documentation;
- Supporting Counsel with developing and refining legal processes to increase efficiency.

Additional duties will also encompass:

- Assisting specialist departments with licencing and permitting matters;
- Preparing and filing corporate annual reports, updating and tracking licencing bonds and bond renewal periods, and routinely handling local and state licencing and permitting matters;
- Assisting Accounts Payable regarding Legal Department vendor billing and related matters;
- Maintaining the Legal Department Library and subscriptions, and providing general administrative support to Counsel.

Paralegal certification and 4+ years experience required, preferably in litigation or regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat software as well as Lexis and PACER necessary.
