Bonhams are currently seeking a Junior Cataloguer to join the Coin Department based in their Knightsbridge saleroom. This role is to cover a period of maternity leave, initially for 6 months.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, cataloguing items to be sold in our regular Coin sales, with the assistance of consultants when needed; photographing items for sale and uploading them onto the company website; and liaising with clients and other relevant departments over pre- and post-sale administration.
With excellent organisational and customer service skills, you will handle enquiries via telephone, email, post and in person. You will oversee all items of clients' property that arrive and leave the office, ensuring the safe handling and secure storage of all goods, as well as the transportation of items to and from other Bonhams' offices.
The successful applicant will have a basic understanding of coins, primarily British Coins, and a passion to learn more including Military Medals and Banknotes. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills both written and oral, possess good time management skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines and have very high attention to detail. You will also be computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience of the auction world would be advantageous, but is not essential.
The role is primarily based in the Knightsbridge office, however visits to clients' homes will be necessary from time to time, as well as attending Trade Shows and Valuation Days around the UK.
