We currently have an opportunity for a Trainee in the Impressionist and Modern Art department at New Bond Street.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, running the day to day management of the office for the 2 auctions per year. You will be responsible for sale administration, including liaising with relevant departments such as accounts as well as pre and post sale client mailing. You will manage an orderly system of property within the department. You will assist with the efficient handling of client queries over the telephone and by email as well as from the reception desk, consulting specialists where necessary. You will also be required to maintain an up-to-date contact database. You will assist with liaising with outside experts to obtain expertise on consigned goods
You will be conversant with all aspects of the auction process, have proven administrative ability and be computer literate (especially with MS word and Excel). You will be able to prioritise your workload in a busy office and possess good interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral. You will possess excellent time management and organisation skills and the ability to be a team player. Foreign language skills are highly desirable and both spoken and written Italian or German would be an advantage.
