Junior Cataloguer – European Ceramics & Glass Department, New Bond Street

Bonhams is seeking a Junior Cataloguer to assist in the European Ceramics & Glass department, to work with an established team of specialists, helping to process the large number of lots sold each year.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, assisting with research and catalogue preparation, completing client contracts, valuing and advising clients on the sale of their property at the reception desk, on the telephone and by post or email. You will assist with cataloguing the specialised sales using the appropriate computer system and organise the catalogue production with the Photographic department and Desktop Publishing. You will be assisting with all aspects of administration, including maintaining control of property in and out of the department, with particular reference to items transferred between New Bond Street and other regional branches, as well as maintaining the database. You may be asked to execute telephone bids during the sale and other duties assigned by the Department Director.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral along with a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure. You will be computer literate and have a keen eye for detail. A proven keen interest in European Ceramics and Glass along with previous researching experience is desirable. You will preferably be educated to degree level and have knowledge of European languages.
