A position has become available for a Trainee to provide support to the specialists in this busy department.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, managing pre-and post-sale administration, assisting with cataloging and with the compilation of condition reports, photographing lots for sale and uploading images on to the departmental website, handling furniture and overseeing the movement of all consignments into and out of the department. With excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail, you will help with the preparation of sale catalogs in line with strict printing and distribution deadlines. You will have first class customer service skills, liaising with specialists to provide prompt and expert advice for Bonhams' clients, whether at the front counter, on appraisal and sale viewing days, or on client visits.
In addition to general administrative duties, you will manage departmental electronic mail outs, maintaining the contact database with up-to-date information, and supporting the Head of Department with advertising and marketing initiatives that further the development of the department.
You will have excellent administrative and customer service skills as well as the ability to work well on your own and as part of a team. You will have strong IT skills and superb communication skills, both written and oral.
