Impressionist and Modern Art

The Impressionist & Modern Art department holds major sales in London in February and June and in New York in May and November which include the very best of the period in all media - paintings, works on paper, sculpture and ceramics.

From the dawn of Impressionism to the fracturing of traditions in the Post-War period, from Degas to Dalí, the department covers the movements that define recent Western Art. Artists represented include Monet, Bonnard, Sisley, Pissarro, Rodin, Modigliani, Le Sidaner, Picasso, Miró, Ernst and Buffet to name but a few. Our specialists have extensive experience advising private collectors, art dealers and corporate and public institutions on curating their collections, and on strategies for acquisition and deaccessioning. In addition Bonhams can advise and negotiate on private sale transactions for major works.

Entries are currently invited for the next major sale in New York on 6 May 2014, for which the deadline is 10 March 2014, and for the sale in London, New Bond Street on 23 June 2014, for which the deadline is 2 May 2014.
