Dogs in Show and Field

Bonhams is proud to have led the market in canine paintings and works of art for over 30 years. 'Dogs in Show and Field: The Fine Art Sale' is an annual auction held in our saleroom in the heart of Manhattan every February to coincide with the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The sale consistently attracts a unique gathering of elite breeders and owners from both sides of the Atlantic, as well as international collectors of canine art and memorabilia. These enthusiasts are brought together each year before the sale at the famous Bonhams Barkfest. This is a charity Breakfast view of the sale with proceeds benefiting the American Kennel Club Humane Fund that has turned into a highlight of the gallery calendar and Westminster week and of course all dogs are welcome!

Interest in these auctions has led to a number of world record prices for works by artists such as John Emms and William Henry Hamilton Trood.

Other popular dog painters include Arthur Wardle, Maud Earl, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, Thomas Blinks, Edmund Henry Osthaus and Percival Rosseau. With unparalleled specialist experience in this niche market, the enduring appeal of man's best friend continues to attract the finest dog related art to this fun and record breaking sale.
