Australian Art

Bonhams is the market leader in Australian Art. Achieving over $31 million in sales in 2013, we realised more than double the turnover of any of our competitors in Australia last year and also hold the record for most works sold over $1 million. Bonhams set more Australian art auction records in 2013 than any other auction house.

Recent achievements for Bonhams Australia include three high profile single-owner sales: The Laverty Collection which achieved the record for an Australian Contemporary Art auction; The Evatt Collection that featured the largest group of Aboriginal bark paintings ever offered at auction as a single collection; and The Grundy Collection which is the most valuable single owner art auction ever held in Australia with a result totalling over $19 million (including buyer's premium).

Bonhams holds three mixed vendor auctions per year in May, August and November. Offering museum-quality examples of Australian Art from Colonial to Modern, Contemporary and Indigenous art.
