Bonhams Golf Memorabilia department is now inviting consignments of Golfing Collectibles. All memorabilia is welcome including: paintings, Open Player badges, Open programmes, Open and other medals, Ryder Cup material, signed photographs, pre 1940s golf balls, pre 1920s wooden shafted clubs, golfing ceramics and silver ware.
Highlights of the past years include the celebrated golfing portrait of Henry Callender by Lemuel Francis Abbott, previously owned by the Royal Blackheath Golf Club which sold for £722,500 (inc. premium), together with an extremely rare iron headed putter, circa 1780, which made £65,000 (inc. premium). The golfing department achieved a world record for an Open Championship medal with Alexander 'Sandy' Herd's 1902 medal which sold for £67,480. (inc. premium)
