The 28th annual Dog Sale held in our New York Saleroom on February 16th was a huge success with strong prices acheived for paintings by such artists as John Emms, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, George Stubbs, Maude Earl and John Sarget Noble to name a few.
Amongst the most sought after lots of the sale was a 19th century, leather and brass collar belonging to Charles Dickens, which sparked a round of spirited bidding resulting in a final price of $11,590 - well over its $4,000-6,000 estimate.
"We are very pleased at the level of activity in all sectors of the dog art market. This has been one of our more successful and exciting auctions in recent memory," stated specialist Alan Fausel.
If you have a piece of dog art that you would like to enter in our next auction, please contact the department.
