How To Bid for "A Day In The Life” Autograph Manuscript

"A Day In The Life"
The Autograph Manuscript
of John Lennon
January 17 - March 7, 2006
New York

The manuscript lot described in the catalog brochure and on the Bonhams US website is being offered for sale by sealed bid auction. For purposes of this sale, a sealed bid auction is an auction in which bidders submit bids for a fixed price that remain undisclosed to other bidders by a specified deadline, after which time all legitimate bids will be reviewed by the company, and, subject to the reserve, the highest legitimate bid submitted in accordance with the Conditions of Sale will be declared the winning bid.

By participating in this sale, each bidder agrees to be bound by the Conditions of Sale applicable to this auction.

Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the lot at one of the Previews in advance of submitting a bid. Except as expressly set forth in the Conditions of Sale, the lot will be sold “As Is” and with all faults; illustrations in our catalogs, website and other materials are provided for identification only.

Deadline:

All completed bids must be received in our New York office by no later than 12 noon EST on Tuesday, March 7, 2006.

Submission of Bids & Bid Requirements:

All bids should be submitted in writing and transmitted by certified mail, hand delivery or confirmed facsimile on the attached Bid Form and delivered care of:

Jon King, Vice President
Bonhams New York
595 Madison Avenue
6th Floor
New York, NY 10022
PH: (212) 644 9001
FAX: (212) 644 9009

All bids must be submitted by completing the specially designated Bid Form. Any bids submitted otherwise, whether by letter, on other Bonhams absentee bid forms, by email or in any other manner will not be deemed legitimate bids.

Each Bid Form must be accompanied by a Letter of Reference or a Letter of Credit from an internationally-recognized bank acceptable to us supporting the availability of the purchase funds.

Each bid must be made for a stated fixed price in U.S. dollars.

A buyer's premium equal to 5% of the bid price will be added to the winning bid price and together with the bid price will constitute the purchase price for the lot.

Unless the purchaser is exempt by law from the payment thereof, any California, Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington state, or other state or local sales tax (or compensating use tax) and other applicable taxes will be added to the purchase price and be payable by the winning bidder as part of the total purchase price.

Each Bid Form must be completed and originally executed by the bidder.

Bonhams will use reasonable efforts to acknowledge receipt of completed and timely submitted bids.

After the close of the auction at 12 noon EST March 7, 2006, all completed and timely submitted bids will be reviewed by Bonhams and, subject to the reserve (the confidential minimum bid price that the seller is willing to accept for the lot), the bidder submitting highest legitimate bid will be declared the successful purchaser of the lot.

Bidders will be informed of the success or failure of their bid submissions within approximately three days following the close of sale. Bonhams reserves the right to withhold the final successful bid price at its discretion.

Payment by the successful bidder shall be due and payable in full in US dollars in good funds within seven days following the close of sale, or by 12 noon EST on Tuesday, March 14, 2006. Payment shall be made by cashier’s check or wire transfer.

The lot will be available for pick-up by the purchaser from our New York office upon receipt of full payment and clearance of purchase funds.
