Auctions of 20th Century Decorative Arts continue at Bonhams &
Butterfields in Los Angeles on April 19, 2010. The upcoming spring
offering feature works from the post-war studio craft and design
movements by mid-century masters such as George Nakashima, Jack Rogers
Hopkins, Beatrice Wood, and Raymond Loewy, among others.
Mid-century highlights will include a George Nakashima walnut settee
(est. $8,000-12,000); a Jack Rogers Hopkins stacked laminated chair
(est. $25,000-35,000); a pair of Beatrice Wood luster glazed earthenware
figural King and Queen Teapots (est. $6,000-8,000); a Paul Evans
sculpted steel credenza (est. $18,000-25,000) and a Raymond Loewy
drawing of the S1 locomotive (est. $3,000-4,000) as well as a strong
selection of Italian and Dutch modernism.
