The inaugural sale of Newlyn and St Ives Art took place on the 19 November
2008. There was standing room only in the New Bond Street saleroom demonstrating
the huge interest in the Art of these communities.
Among the highlights of the sale was Walter Langley's Cornish fisherfolk
which realised £45,600. There was also strong interest in the work of Henry
Scott Tuke, with Keeping her off selling for £57,680.
In the St Ives section, the work of Bryan Pearce proved of continuous appeal
with Mevagissey realising £16,800. The important 1956 collage by Ben Nicholson
Off Brown Vertical realised £30,000. Other artists represented included
John Wells, Sir Terry Frost and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham.
We are currently accepting entries for the next sale, which is being held
on 18 November 2009. Our specialists are available to provide current auction
