Adler Fielding Gallery produced four casts of this subject which were signed and numbered by the artist. The above work is a unsigned cast, possibly a founder's proof. The original wooden sculpture is in a private collection in South Africa.
PROVENANCE: Adler Fielding Galleries, Johannesburg, April 1966 A private collection, USA
The Johannesburg Star reviewed the exhibition on 15th April 1966 and stated:
"His animal sculptures are exciting - sometimes harrowing to the features - but never static or sentimental. The Leopard whipping around in snarling fury."
