A multi-gem set pendant necklace by Amy Sandheim
Unmarked, the pierced cruciform mount collet set with a variety of gemstones including chalcedony, sapphire, emerald, chrysoprase and amethyst, suspended from a fancy link chain set at intervals with ten circular mother-of- pearl collets, contained in a fitted box, the interior signed 'Amy. A. Sandheim, Artistic and Peasant Jewellery, 130 High Street, Notting Hill Gate, Tel Park 0291', the gold painted exterior applied with a rectangular panel painted in polychrome with twelve angels above Chapter 21, Verses 19-21, The Book of Revelations, and inscribed in black 'Hers to His, Jerusalem, Christmas 1935,' pendant 11cm long, chain 62cm.

The Book of Revelations, Chapter 19, Verses 19-21 And the foundations of the walls of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; the fifth, Sardonyx; the sixth, Sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprase; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, every several gate was of one pearl.
This pendant necklace was also commissioned by Caleb Saleeby, and presented as a gift (at Christmas, 1935), to his second wife, Muriel. See also lot *.
